You Need an Egress Window

You Need an Egress Window

There are some specific basement window requirements that you’ll need to follow in order for your new basement space to be considered a proper bedroom.

All residential building code requirements across the United States state that any habitable space must have at least one egress window. Specifically, an egress window is a type of window that is large enough that a person could escape in the event of an emergency, such as a fire. Any of the windows in your current main floor bedrooms would be considered egress windows. The idea is that all sleeping spaces within a home need to have a viable escape route in the event of a house fire. This way, inhabitants can flee to safety or, at the very least, have the potential to be rescued by firefighters at the scene.

To comply with safety regulations, when remodeling a basement to convert it into a living space, an exit window must be installed. This will not only allow a fire escape. But, also bring more natural light. The window must be large enough for people to escape if necessary, and for rescue teams to have access through that space.

Why are we the option you are looking for?

If you are looking for a high-quality workforce and qualified professionals, we are the remodeling contractor you should choose, we meet the definition of what you want to achieve with your project.

A residential general contractor is a home remodeling professional who organizes and executes larger remodeling projects. Often these professionals are confused with home improvement pros. But as they will be quick to tell you, a home remodeling professional deals with longer projects that incorporate specific design and architectural ideas to provide a homeowner with a better living experience, either by adding space or making better use of an established space.

A home improvement contractor is usually tasked with smaller, though no less important items, such as installing new windows, flooring, cabinets, siding, landscaping, etc. A good way to think of a residential general contractor is that he is in charge of home improvement contractors, or what are referred to in the field as “subcontractors”.

What our clients are saying

"First of all, Anwar Beisa answered the phone when I called(!). Next, he was able to schedule a visit to my house very quickly after my initial contact. During our walk through, Anwar suggested a repair process that I had not considered that ended up saving me some money and being more structurally sound that the one I had suggested. The work was done very well, and they cleaned up as well as I've seen any contractor clean up. I would definitely use them again."

"This is by far the most professional Contractor We ever worked with . We had our exterior Siding replaced and painted and remodel or Bathroom and some others interior repairs and it was a very smooth process and we were very happy with every employee and sub. there was 1 or 2 times we wish there was more lead time notice to get things done or move but they adapted and helped . after all the good work and communication was overwhelming. we will hire Beisas again when we save some more $$$ ."
